About Us.

My name is Todd Towle. I started Kingfisher River Guides over twenty years ago, intending to provide a quality, professional, and personal guide service. Much has changed in the fly fishing industry over those years, except for my original intention. I began my career guiding whitewater river trips at the age of twenty, and eventually evolved into a fly fishing guide/outfitter. Growing up in Maine, I majored in outdoor education on a local level, as in every parent telling their kids the same thing, “ Be back before dark.” Eventually, I travelled extensively through the western U.S. and Alaska, and those trips sealed the deal. One day, I woke up and had a washing machine, an incredible wife, and two kids who continually amaze me.

The fly fishing world is a very small community, and I’m thankful to be a part of it. In conjunction with guiding, I work as a photographer (both editorial and commercial). All of the images within this site are mine, and some are available as prints. If you are interested in viewing more work, please feel free to go to https://www.toddtowlephotography.com/

Working as a guide and photographer has given me a deep appreciation of the natural world and its inhabitants. For me, it comes down to one thing. Relationships. It’s everything.
